As of Jan. 4, 2022, new EU regulations apply to tattoo artists across Europe.
WHAT IS THE BAN?
This REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) legislation prohibits the use of 4,000 chemicals. Some of these chemicals are used in the most popular types of ink for tattoos and permanent makeup.
HOW DOES THE INDUSTRY RESPOND?
Manufacturers go along with the story and act immediately. They help tattoo artists so they can continue to practice their craft.
The following manufacturers are coming up with REACH-compliant ink formulas that tattooists can legally use in Europe, thus staying in line with the new legislation.
WORLD-FAMOUS ‘LIMITLESS’ TATTOO INK
Available since Jan. 10, the new World Famous Limitless line offers more than 100 REACH-compliant types of tattoo ink.
An industry leader called “World Famous,” aims to provide European artists with the tattoo ink they seek daily, despite the ban. The versatile Limitless brand is currently only available to artists in the EU, but will be available worldwide later in 2022.

Available since Jan. 10, the new Perma BlendLuxe pigment line offers more than 44 REACH-compliant pigments for permanent makeup artists.
